In 1943, Grenville L. Winthrop bequeathed his legendary collection of over 4,000 objects to Harvard. Highlights of this exhibition of Winthrop’s extraordinary holdings of 19th-century art include works by the French masters David, Delacroix, Géricault, Ingres, Moreau, Renoir, and Rodin; by the acclaimed British painters Burne-Jones, Hunt, Rossetti, and Watts; and by the American artists French, La Farge, Manship, Sargent, and Whistler.
