In the fall of 2005, David Gordon Mitten retired from his position as the George M. A. Hanfmann Curator of Ancient Art. During the 30 years of his tenure, he assembled a remarkable collection that encompasses all media, represents numerous ancient cultures, and spans three millennia. This exhibition highlights some of the many objects he has acquired over the years that have inspired generations of Harvard undergraduate and graduate students.
