Quantum Grids takes the offer of two exceptional long-term loans of works by Sol LeWitt and Yayoi Kusama as an incentive to showcase a previously unexhibited painting by Cai Guo-Qiang and a newly acquired work by Fred Tomaselli. Each artist uses the ordering device of the grid, a feature often identified with LeWitt but equally essential in the others' works, where it helps contain an array of gestures that might otherwise feel random.

Organized by Linda Norden, associate curator of contemporary art.
