This painting is in exceptionally good condition. The double subframe and the recessed masking ribbon on the tacking edges of the canvas are original. Moreover, unlike many other paintings by Mondrian, the canvas was never lined. Linings often cause paint loss around the edges of the canvas and a flattening of the brushwork.
