• To retain the terminology of the day, we have cataloged the photographs and other objects that survive from the Social Museum according to their original system of topical classification and by transcribing their captions. To view an index to the Social Museum published in 1911, click here. The "Classification Topic" guided search provides a selected pick-list.
• You can also search by keywords in the Full Title Search. You do not need to use Boolean commands.
• An artist is indicated only when known.
• Full records and images of the Social Museum’s original exhibition boards are usually followed by records and images of individual photographs or objects attached to the board. They can also be differentiated by the accession numbers, which have parent/child relationships. For example, the parent record of 3.2002.2238 has two child records with the numbers 3.2002. 2238.1 and 3.2002. 2238.2.
