Archaeological Exploration of Sardis

Excavating since 1958, Sardis has yielded artifacts from the Lydian, Persian, Hellenistic, Roman, Byzantine, and Ottoman cultures. In the past 50 years, over 14,000 objects have been inventoried and thousands more saved for future study.
